  • Redundancy: If the content and communication style are identical across both platforms, it might lead to redundancy and disengagement.

:white_check_mark:Conclusion

Both Telegram and Discord offer unique advantages for Web3 community building. Telegram excels in simplicity and broad reach, making it suitable for quick updates and announcements. Discord provides a more structured environment conducive to in-depth discussions and long-term community engagement. In my honest opinion, Discord is the best tool for community building out here, to the best of my knowledge. Just based on the kind of community activations you can run on Discord, places it in a class of it’s own.
But I do agree with the fact that your choice will depend solely on who constitutes your community and the goal of building said community.

We use all platforms where our community members are, but when it comes to real gatherings, discussions, and deeper interaction, Discord is definitely our go-to space. @_S17 has got it right.

I’ll go with Telegram due to its relative simplicity.

I am definitely a big fan of Discord, but yes, it requires more time, and obviously not all projects are keen to have a deep conversation and segment it on Discord.

Exactly, It is the right place for deeper interaction and especially hosting events. Discord is the right place to organize live tournaments for a GameFi project for example, like you guys do, something that Telegram isn’t really designed for.

If you don’t need to segment and host different activities, then yes Telegram is still the best choice, less time consuming and easier to use.

Telegram now has the option to create different sections in a group, still not feature packed like that of Discord but i believe they’ll get there

That’s true, however, I think is still far to be as user-friendly as Discord, especially as organized as Discord, but yeah, they might get there, let’s see.

I’ve always preferred Telegram over Discord ,maybe because it’s just so easy to use, or I’m just too used to it by now.
I’ve tried Discord (and yeah, it’s definitely more advanced), but the user base on Telegram feels much larger and more active in comparison.
So shifting to Discord permanently never really clicked for me
