Modern token launchpads are fundamentally broken. By being wallet-first, not community-first, platforms like pump.fun incentivize bot-sniping and insider games, while failing to filter out the endless stream of low-effort rugs. There is no mechanism to prove a community has real conviction and skin in the game before a token goes live.
Solution Overview
Sobo inverts the launch model. It’s a launchpad where community and capital prove each other. We are introducing the Social Bonding Curve: a phase where users bond their social engagement with a refundable capital commitment. An on-chain AI agent, built with the Alith framework, calculates a “Sobo Score” based on this sybil-resistant engagement. If the project fails to graduate, all bonds are returned; if it succeeds, the bonders become the project’s seed investors, forming the foundation of the financial bonding curve.
Project Description
Sobo, short for Social Bonding, is the gatekeeper for the coin launch meta. It ensures every launch is backed by a community with proven skin in the game. The process is managed by the Sobo Score Engine, an on-chain AI agent.
Here’s how it works:
A project is listed on Sobo in the “Social Bonding” phase.
To participate, community members connect their socials and place a small, refundable capital bond (e.g., in ETH) into the project’s graduation escrow.
This action unlocks “Community Quests.” As the community creates content, wins meme contests, and generates real engagement, the AI engine analyzes this activity and translates it into a live “Sobo Score.” The capital bond acts as a powerful signal of conviction and a defense against bots.
If the project fails to hit its target Sobo Score within a set time, the escrow automatically refunds all capital to the bonders. No one loses money.
If the project graduates, the escrowed capital is automatically converted into the project’s token, making the social bonders the very first holders. This pool of capital then seeds the official financial bonding curve.
This entire process leverages Hyperion’s parallel execution to process thousands of simultaneous bonds and social signals in real-time. It is a truly AI-native dApp whose core logic for social analysis and scoring is powered by the Alith framework.
Community Engagement Features
The Sobo platform is a gamified test of a community’s conviction.
Specify testable features/tasks:
Commitment Bonding: Users can browse concept projects and place a testnet ETH bond into the projects they believe in.
Unlockable Quests: Once bonded, users can complete quests to boost the project’s Sobo Score (e.g., create content that our AI validates, participate in community polls).
Graduation Day Simulation: Users can test the full lifecycle: see a project hit its target score and watch their refundable bond convert into the first tokens of a new bonding curve.
Outline the points system:
Placing a bond in a project: Base 100 points
Completing a high-impact Community Quest: +200-500 points
Being an early bonder in a project that successfully graduates: +1000 points
Explain how this gamifies the experience:
It’s a high-stakes game of collective action. Communities must strategize on how to hit their score target. A public leaderboard shows which projects are trending, creating a competitive spectator sport that culminates in either a celebratory launch or a “no-loss” refund.
Describe how this encourages user onboarding:
It offers the ultimate value proposition: a no-loss way to become a seed investor. Users can back projects they believe in with real (but refundable) conviction. This aligns incentives perfectly and creates a powerful, invested user base before Day 1 of trading.
Getting Involved
We are kicking things off in the Hyperion Forum and will be starting a dedicated Telegram or Discord channel for Sobo. We’re looking for community feedback, aspiring project founders who want to be our first test cases, and anyone who is tired of soulless launches. Follow our proposal on the forum to track our progress and help us build the future of liquidity bootstrapping and launching coins.
Looks really interesting! How does the Sobo Score Engine prevent bots or fake engagement from manipulating the score?
What happens if a project doesn’t reach its target Sobo Score - how and when do users get their bonded capital back?
Can users participate in multiple projects at once, or is bonding limited to one project per user?
How does the refundable capital bond balance encouraging real commitment while keeping participation low-risk?
Is the Social Bonding phase open to any project, or are there criteria for listing on Sobo?
Thank you for the questions! See my comment below to each one
1. How does the Sobo Score Engine prevent bots or fake engagement from manipulating the score?
The capital bond makes large-scale bot farms financially unviable (Economic Cost). In addition to that, we want to take a holistic approach and look at many reputation data sources:
Proof-of-Personhood & Sybil Resistance: World ID, Gitcoin Passport, Self Protocol.
Proof-of-Participation: POAPs, ETH Global Badges, TalentLayer credentials, etc
Proof-of-Reputation: Farcaster social graph, Gnosis Circles web of trust, on-chain transaction history.
Finally, leverage AI for AI Audit: our Alith agent detects and de-weights inorganic, coordinated engagement patterns.
2. What happens if a project doesn’t reach its target Sobo Score - how and when do users get their bonded capital back?
The project doesn’t graduate to open the financial bonding phase (where Sobo scores of participants won’t matter and tokens are tradable within Sobo) and eventually launch the liquidity pool. All bonded amounts during social bonding can be withdrawn at any time.
3. Can users participate in multiple projects at once, or is bonding limited to one project per user?
How does the refundable capital bond balance encouraging real commitment while keeping participation low-risk?
Yes. A user’s participation is naturally limited by their available capital for bonding.
4. How does the refundable capital bond balance encouraging real commitment while keeping participation low-risk?
Commitment: By locking real capital, it forces users to have high conviction. Low-Risk: The bond is fully refundable at any time before graduation, making it a “no-loss” way for users to act as seed participants.
5. Is the Social Bonding phase open to any project?
Fully open and anyone can list - but open to discussion whether it should be otherwise.
Hello @priyankg3 - thanks for your questions! See my comments:
1. What mechanisms are in place to ensure that the community-generated content is meaningful and not just noise to farm the Sobo Score?
Our defense against noise is two-fold.
Trust-Weighted Influence: A user’s impact is tied to their pre-existing reputation (Gitcoin Passport, World ID, Farcaster). An army of new, low-trust accounts contributing spam will have virtually zero effect on the Sobo Score.
AI Content Analysis: Our Alith agent uses NLP to analyze the substance of the content. It rewards originality, semantic depth, and positive sentiment while actively de-valuing and penalizing low-effort spam (“gm”, copy-pastes) and other noise. This forces participants to contribute genuine value.
2. Who holds the escrowed capital during the bonding phase, and how do you ensure trustlessness and transparency in the refund or conversion logic?
All bonded capital will be held in a publicly verifiable and audited Sobo smart contract. The logic is transparent and deterministic - and users can withdraw their bonded capital at any time, then removing their Sobo score contribution to the project.
Love this model — flipping launchpads to be truly community-first with refundable bonding is a great way to align incentives and filter real conviction. I can also see this helping combat the low-quality meme/token spam we’re seeing now. The integration with Hyperion + Alith for live social scoring makes it super native too. Curious how you’ll handle sybil resistance across social platforms, and what kind of quests tend to drive the strongest Sobo Scores? Would love to follow the progress — keep us posted!
Thanks for the detailed answers! Clear explanations on bot prevention, capital bonding, multi-project participation, and the open Social Bonding phase. Really helps clarify how Sobo Score ensures security and flexibility.
