I’m excited to share the current state of My Odyssey
First of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this hackathon. It’s been a fantastic journey building with the Metis ecosystem and exploring how decentralized infrastructure can help people stay motivated, reach personal goals, and build accountability through smart contracts and AI.
Project Overview: My Odyssey
My Odyssey is a motivational dApp where users commit to personal goals by staking tokens. If they achieve the goal — they reclaim the deposit. If they fail — funds are redirected to a designated recipient (a sponsor, donor, or cause).
The app is powered by:
Metis: for wallet integration, user identity, and (soon) smart contracts
LazAI: for goal realism evaluation and automatic subgoal generation
Browse Existing Goals (no login required)
The landing page displays publicly published goals to inspire new users and demonstrate community accountability.
Connect Wallet via Metis Testnet
In the cabinet area, users connect their wallet (Reown AppKit). This enables them to manage personal goals, deposits, and proofs.
Create a Goal
Users fill in:
Title, description, deadline
Optional image
Use AI features:
Evaluate Realism (goal feasibility)
Generate Subgoals (task breakdown)
Manage the Goal
Deposit funds (simulated for now via custodial backend)
Publish the goal (make it visible on homepage)
Mark task progress
Upload proof of completion
Withdraw funds (coming via smart contract)
Current Status
Frontend & backend flows fully functional
AI integration live (LazAI over API)
Wallet connection via Metis testnet
Smart contract integration is scheduled within the next week
Custodial backend handles simulated deposits during testing
We currently simulate funds using a backend wallet. Smart contract integration is in progress and will be deployed shortly to enable full onchain logic. We appreciate your understanding.
Once again, thank you to the Metis team, mentors, and community for organizing this opportunity. I’m looking forward to your feedback and am iterating daily to make My Odyssey stronger, smarter, and more inspiring.
I’ve created a dedicated topic for all active campaigns. Whenever your campaign goes live for the community, please feel free to post it in this specific topic.
The idea of using AI to break down goals into achievable sub-tasks is really compelling.
I’m curious — do you plan to fine-tune the AI model based on actual user feedback about task realism?
Also, have you considered allowing failed goals and their on-chain records to serve as lessons or references for other users with similar goals?
I believe this could enhance transparency and help foster a community of shared learning.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback — I truly appreciate it!
You’re absolutely right: using AI to break down goals is just the beginning. As of now, the model is learning from both completed and failed goals to improve its future assessments. Admittedly, the dataset is still small, but with each new user journey, the model becomes a little smarter. In the near future, we aim to make goal evaluations even more accurate and personalized. User feedback plays a key role in this — that’s why we’ve already added the option for users to request a re-evaluation if they feel the AI misjudged their goal.
As for your second point — I love the idea of using failed goals as community learning tools. Learning from others’ experiences instead of repeating the same mistakes is not only smart, but incredibly valuable in a collective goal-setting environment. I’ll definitely consider incorporating this into the roadmap.
Thanks again for the inspiring ideas — it’s feedback like this that helps shape a better product for everyone
Not yet — but it’s in the works!
I’m planning to turn the current web cabinet into a full mobile app, with native features like push notifications and the ability to upload photos directly from your phone.
For now, as we focus on the core idea, the web app is enough for the MVP stage. It allows us to move fast, test key features, and gather valuable feedback before expanding to mobile platforms. Thanks for your interest — mobile support is definitely on the roadmap!
I am excited to announce a major update to My Odyssey, introducing new difficulty levels for goal setting. Here’s a breakdown of the new features:
1. Easy Mode:
All existing goals are now categorized as Easy.
These goals still work as they did before but now come with simplified AI features, without any financial commitment required.
No publishing option on the goal showcase, but users can still share their goals via a link and accept donations.
Users can mark goals as completed at their own discretion.
2. Medium Difficulty:
For this level, we now record a contract entry for each goal.
As a test, we charge 0.001 Metis for creating a new goal. After testing, this minimum commitment will increase to 0.1 Metis.
This level gives access to more advanced AI features (enhanced models).
Goals cannot be deleted or completed by the user directly. Editing is available only by request.
This is now a full-fledged mode, and we plan to integrate an oracle for semi-automatic goal completion verification, based on user activity and task reporting.
You can publish goals and accept donations in this mode.
Future Plans:
Challenging Mode: Same as Medium, but funds cannot be withdrawn until the goal is completed. The minimum commitment will be higher, and AI features will include advanced research and search functionality.
Hardcore Mode: This is similar to Challenging Mode, but it includes a coaching feature where a real person, alongside the AI agent, helps you complete tasks and monitors progress. It includes full task reporting, and if tasks are not completed, funds are removed from the goal’s pool.
Focus on UI Improvements:
Currently, I am dedicating significant resources to resolving bugs in the user interface and improving the overall user experience. I understand the importance of smooth, intuitive navigation, and I am working hard to refine the interface to make it as seamless as possible for our users.
I am excited to see how these new features will enhance your goal-setting experience.
I’ve decided to pause all new features until the hackathon ends. I have plenty of ideas, but more features right now means more surface area for bugs and less polish. I’d rather spend this time making the current vision feel solid and dependable.
What I’m focusing on now
Stability & bug fixes across core flows
UX/UI polish and small ergonomics improvements
Documentation & clarity
I’ve attached a short vision that outlines the product functionality, monetisation strategy, and roadmap.
Thanks for your feedback—keeping the scope tight now should make the product feel much better for everyone.
Over the past weeks, I have worked tirelessly on My Odyssey, a Web3 motivation app that combines AI-driven agents with blockchain-based commitment mechanisms. It was a challenging journey—filled with long hours of designing smart contracts and fine-tuning AI agent logic—but I’m excited to finally share the results with you.
Below are the materials where you can explore the project in depth:
Repository & code overview:GitHub – myOdysseyMetis — includes backend, frontend, and showcase services.
Smart contracts: Source code located in the services/contract directory within the repo, detailing the blockchain logic. GitHub
AI agents: Implementation of AI-driven components is in the services/backend/src/agents folder, showing how agents are orchestrated and operate. GitHub
I truly hope My Odyssey conveys not just technical solidity, but also a purposeful vision for motivation, commitment, and accomplishing real-world goals. Thank you for taking the time to explore my work—I hope you find it engaging and insightful!
