How to Grow a Brand-New Project on Twitter (X): From Zero to Seen

We all know the feeling.

You’ve just launched your project. You’ve set up your Twitter or X

And now it’s just… a headache.

No one’s liking. No one’s retweeting. Your tweets feel invisible.

If you’re a builder or marketer trying to grow a project from scratch, without a big name or a budget, this is for you.

Here’s what I’ve learned (and still learning) about showing up on Twitter from zero:

:brick: First: Your Tagline Really Matters

Your profile and pinned tweet are doing all the heavy lifting in the beginning.

Forget vague promises like “revolutionizing Web3 infrastructure.” No one remembers that.

Instead, say what you really are, in a way people can repeat.

Think:

  • “AI Agents You Can Trust.”
  • “You own the data. We build the tools.”
  • “Smarter dApps. Real-time.”

Keep it short. Use it everywhere: bio, pinned post, even your visuals.

:writing_hand: Second: Structure Your Posts Before You Burn Out

You don’t need to be clever every day. You need a system.

What helped me:

  • A solid pinned intro thread (who you are, what you’re building, and why now)
  • A few recurring formats you rotate every week:
    • Share something educational
    • Add commentary on industry news or AI/Web3 trends
    • Give updates on your build
    • Use memes (when they’re good — don’t force it)
    • Reflect as a founder or team

You’ll get better as you go. But show up consistently first.

:robot: Third: Help the Algorithm Help You

Some of the best tweets are slept on just because they didn’t get early engagement.

So:

  • Ask your team or a few friends to like + comment quickly when you post.
  • Reply to your own tweet with extra context (this really helps visibility).
  • Spend 10–15 mins replying to other people’s tweets every day. Genuinely.

Think of it as warming up the room before you speak.

:chart_decreasing: Fourth: Watch Your Funnel

Getting followers is cool. But what do they do after that?

Make sure your pinned tweet, profile, and top posts drive them somewhere:

  • To your site
  • To your Forum
  • To your testnet
  • To join your hackathon

It’s not just about impressions — it’s about connection.

:speech_balloon: Last: Don’t Build Alone

Invite people in:

  • Ask for feedback.
  • Share something unfinished.
  • Make it fun (“caption this,” “vote for the worst AI response,” etc).
  • Use polls, gifs, stories. This is social media after all.

Anyway, if you’re trying to grow your project from 0 to something, feel free to drop your handle below or ask for feedback. I’m down to start a growth pod too if people are interested.

Let’s make each other a little less invisible :victory_hand:
