in my humble opinion, here are 5 mindsets that all top builders have:
1. care more about users than dev clout
it’s cool when other builders notice your work. but it matters way more when real users do. build for them.
2. build with conviction, not for likes
not every smart idea goes viral. good builders chase what they know is valuable, even if no one claps for it yet. it’s your marketing team’s job to show people what they’re missing.
3. increase your surface area
talk to other builders, join calls, share builds and explore new stuff. every touchpoint is a chance to grow.
you might find yourself with new contributors, smart feedback and unexpected collabs that you would never get otherwise
4. know your edge
why does this product deserve to exist? why are you the one to build it? whether it’s technical ability, speed, distribution, or timing, good teams know their edge and build around it.
5. don’t check the charts too much
watching price action won’t help you ship. the best builders care way more about usage than candles.
of course keep a general sense of where you are, but focus on your process.
agree? disagree? would love to hear what mindsets you’d add ![]()
