Hey fellow Metisians,
Let’s be real, in Web3, everything feels urgent. New stuff is popping up every day. Hackathons, feature drops, DAO proposals, partnerships… all of it can look like a fire you have to run and solve.
The problem? You end up overwhelmed, and often things don’t get done the right way, or at all.
So, how can we figure out what’s actually important when everything screams “do it now”? Here’s some tips I’ve picked up.
1. Know why you’re building
Ask yourself: Is this project for revenue, community, or improving the core tech? Knowing the real reason helps you decide what’s noise and what deserves your time.
2. Eat the frog first
Start your day with the toughest, most important thing, especially if it’s about security, tokenomics, or user experience. When that’s done, your brain is freer for the rest.
3. Check in with your team and community
Talk with your DAO, team, or Discord community. Ask them: “Which feature or idea actually makes a difference?” Aligning keeps everyone pulling in the same direction.
4. Test fast
Not sure if something matters? Build a quick MVP or poll the community. If people care, keep going. If not drop it and move on.
5. Plan your week, don’t just react
Set a plan like: “This week we ship the core feature, next week we test the new integration.” If urgent stuff comes up, leave small windows in your week so nothing explodes, but you stay on track.
6. Protect your focus
Web3 is full of shiny new stuff every day. But if you keep switching, you’ll never ship anything solid. Try deep-focus blocks or even
At the end of the day, Web3 moves fast but that doesn’t mean you have to burn out to keep up. Prioritizing isn’t about doing everything, it’s about doing the right things at the right time.
Keep your head clear, your goals sharp, and don’t be afraid to say “not now” to what’s not aligned. You’ll go further that way and your project will thank you for it.
Curious to hear how you all deal with this chaos. Drop your tips or even your fails below. Let’s learn from each other, fellas.
