Let’s face it: crypto is loaded with complex terms that scare people off.
Most of us didn’t start out knowing what ZK-rollups, MEV, or BFT meant—and let’s be honest, some of us still fake it when they come up. But the future of crypto depends on how well we can explain it to the next person.
That’s why we’re starting this thread.
Goal: Build a community-powered “crypto jargon decoder.” Post a confusing term and your best plain-English version of it. Make it funny, clear, or relatable.
Here are a few to get us started:
- ZK-rollups → Private transactions, lower fees, less waiting.
- Liquidity pool → A group pot where everyone earns interest.
- Smart contract → A vending machine that runs on tokens.
What terms tripped you up when you first got into crypto? Or what’s one term you’ve found a great way to explain?
Post your entry below — we’ll compile the best responses into a community glossary everyone can share.
Let’s make Web3 make sense.
