Analysing ThreadGuy’s Tier List of Crypto Twitter accounts

ThreadGuy just dropped a tier list of top crypto accounts to follow. It blew up. Over 70,000 people tuned in live to his stream to hear him talk through the picks.

It sparked a lot of different reactions, with some complaining about its accuracy and others calling it Crypto Twitters’ version of the Forbes list. What’s undeniable is that it drew a lot of attention.

What actually makes an X ‘top tier’ anyway?

I decided to look at the top 75 list to find out:

Here’s what I found:

How Often They Post

  • Most top-tier accounts post once or twice a day

  • The loudest ones (3 or more posts daily) are usually traders, meme pages, or content creators

  • Less active accounts tended to fall lower on the tier list

How Often They Reply

  • Replying is where the real magic happens

  • Top accounts often reply 5 to 10 times a day

  • This consistent interaction keeps them visible and builds stronger community ties

So what can we learn from all this?

Being active matters, but it’s not just about blasting tweets.

The best accounts participate. They show up in conversations, and leave meaningful impressions.

What do you think makes an account worth following?

Is it the quality of insights, the frequency of replies, the memes, or something else entirely?

Let me know!

Quality insights are great, but I find myself sticking around more for people who show up in threads, share experiences, and mix in some personality (whether that’s memes, humor, or just genuine takes). That combo makes it feel like you’re part of a community rather than just reading a feed.

Totally agree on this, interact and answer to your own follower constantly creates for sure a sense of belonging and trust, so I would totally go with “show up in conversations”.

I followed ThreadGuy’s list! He said its all about the acc’s he suggests you follow the most so as someone prominent in the space as a whole i suppose it’s an important list to get a sense of Crypto Twitter. and yes it’s no suprise that so many of them reply a lot.
